This policy covers the Merge Crate app for Android and iOS (“the app”), made by Diviners Group Pvt Ltd (“we”). It says what the app keeps, what it sends, who receives it and how you delete it.
- Your progress
- Stays on your phone. We have no copy.
- Sign-in
- None. The app never asks for an email, a phone number, contacts, photos or your location.
- Leaderboard
- A made-up name, your fruit, your level and your scores. You can rename yourself or leave at any time.
- Ads
- Shown by Google AdMob and Unity LevelPlay, which collect device and ad data themselves. A Remove ads plan turns them off.
- Purchases
- An optional Remove ads plan, paid through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.
1. What stays on your phone
Your game lives on your device: best score, level and points, themes, awards, daily streak, a run in progress, your settings, and the name and fruit on your profile. We cannot see it or restore it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes it.
On Android, your phone's own backup may include app data and bring it back on a new phone. That backup is a service between you and Google, and you control it in the phone's settings.
2. Leaderboard
The app has a world leaderboard with two lists: level, and best score in a single run. After your first scored run the app adds you to it under a made-up name such as “Merry Melon 451”, so you never have to type anything. The app then sends our server:
- a random player ID and key created for this install, which let only your phone update or delete your entry;
- your display name and the fruit picture you chose;
- your level, the points you have scored and your best score;
- whether the phone runs Android or iOS, and the app's build number.
When the app connects, the server also notes a two-letter country code worked out from your internet address. We do not store the address itself. Other players can see your name, fruit, level, score and country.
You can change your name and fruit in Profile. Please do not use your real name. To leave, open Settings and choose Leave the leaderboard: your name and scores are deleted from our server straight away, and the app does not add you again unless you press Join.
The leaderboard server runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1), which processes this data on our behalf and may do so in a country other than yours.
3. Advertising
The app is free and paid for by ads: short rewarded videos you choose to watch (for a continue, a power-up, a theme trial or a bonus) and an occasional full-screen ad between runs. Two ad services put their own code in the app:
- Google AdMob
- Used everywhere. How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Unity LevelPlay
- With Unity Ads and ironSource Ads. Used only in countries where no consent form is required, which today means outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Unity privacy policy.
These services collect information directly from your device: its advertising ID where one is available, your IP address (which shows roughly where you are), the device model, system version and language, the app's ID and version, and which ads were shown, watched or tapped. They use it to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see the same one, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, show ads based on your interests. We receive totals only, such as how many ads were shown.
Your choices:
- Europe and the UK: the app asks for your choice the first time it opens. Change it under Settings, Ad privacy choices.
- iPhone: iOS asks whether the app may track you. Change it in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Android: delete or reset your advertising ID in the Android Settings app under Google, Ads (or Privacy, Ads).
Ads are limited to content rated for a general audience with parental guidance.
4. Purchases
Remove ads is an optional plan, monthly or yearly, bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store. The store takes the payment under its own privacy policy. We never receive your name, card or billing details, and we keep no record of purchases on any server.
The app asks the store whether your store account holds an active plan and keeps the answer on your phone. While a plan is active the app shows no ads, so the ad services in section 3 are not asked for any.
5. Other services the app contacts
On Android the app asks Google Play whether a newer version is available. The app has no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, or under the age that applies where you live, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has joined the leaderboard, write to us and we will delete the entry.
7. Keeping and deleting your data
- On your phone: kept until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
- Leaderboard: kept until you leave. If you no longer have the app, email us the display name and we will delete the entry within 30 days.
- Ad data: held by Google and Unity under their own policies. The choices in section 3 control it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. The only information we hold is your leaderboard entry. Email us and we will act on a request within 30 days.
We do not sell your information for money. Showing ads based on your interests can count as “sharing” under some laws, and the choices in section 3 turn that off. Where the law asks for a legal basis, we rely on your consent for interest-based ads and on our legitimate interest in running the leaderboard and showing other ads.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches you.
